Not all soccer fans have been able to get a ticket to watch one of the matches during UEFA EURO 2024 in Gelsenkirchen's Veltins-Arena. But fans can also cheer, celebrate and soak up the atmosphere away from the arena at Nordsternpark in Gelsenkirchen.
Fan Zone and Public Viewing
The Fan Zone will be set up on Nordsternplatz, where soccer fans will be offered a colorful entertainment program. All matches of the European Championship can be watched live on a screen here.
The big public viewing, on the other hand, will take place in the nearby amphitheater. All matches of the German national team and all matches played in Gelsenkirchen will be shown live there not far from the Rhine-Herne Canal. The two semi-finals and the final can also be watched.
On completely match-free days, the fan zone and the amphitheater will remain closed.
Fan meeting points
Two fan meeting points will be available for fans of the teams playing on match days in both the north and south of Gelsenkirchen. One is located in the old town at Heinrich-König-Platz, the other will be set up at Sankt-Urbanus-Kirchplatz in Buer.
Baggage into the stadium? No need
On all match days at the Gelsenkirchen Arena Auf Schalke, the city will set up free luggage storage at the station center. Luggage of any size can be deposited at Bahnhofsvorplatz 5, in 45879 Gelsenkirchen.
